CAD Technician - Internship

Automatic Building Controls, Inc., the 2020 Siemens Fire Safety Solutions Partner of the Year for the USA, is a leading commercial fire alarm provider located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We specialize in Life Safety Systems such as Fire Alarms, Mass Notification, Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement Systems, and Nurse Call. We also specialize in other low voltage systems such as Clock Systems. We have an excellent opportunity for an entry level CAD Technician Internship. This hourly-paid position is well-suited for a motivated, career-minded individual that possesses technical abilities, communication skills, and a strong work ethic. Upon graduation and depending on workload at that time, internship may be converted into a full time position with full benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Create and modify electrical drawings in AutoCAD LT

• Prepare 2-D drawings from blueprints and as-builts

• Print, run copies, and scan redlined as-builts

Requirements:

• Current enrollment in CAD programs or equivalent CAD experience

• Proficient in AutoCAD LT

• Detail-oriented

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Work independently while also being a successful team player

• Ability to follow instructions

• Able to interpret project documents and redlines
